Can their phones keep teens from get­ting pregnant?

A cam­paign designed to get teenagers talk­ing about preg­nancy turns their cell phones into “vir­tual babies” by send­ing texts with demands like “feed me” or com­ments like “rap­pers spit rhymes, I spit up.” The Preg­nancy Text cam­paign, launch­ing later this month through a non­profit, aims to take advan­tage of teens’ rep­u­ta­tion for being glued to their phones. Each par­ent­ing “ses­sion” will last only 12 hours, but cam­paign orga­niz­ers say that’s plenty of time to spark conversation.
