Mike & Liza’s Marriage Ref: Sweet or Insincere

Dear Mike & Liza,

My sweet husband texts me the same thing every day — “How’s your day going?”  I stop what I’m doing and write back a thoughtful response.  I rarely hear back from him.  When I do, it’s a brief, “That’s nice dear.”

It almost seems like he’s going through the motions instead of showing sincere interest.  And he makes me do all the work in the conversation.

If there were a point to the conversation, I wouldn’t mind.  Otherwise, it’s kind of driving me crazy.

Sheryl, Idaho Falls

P.S.  I hear and read the Marriage Ref comments every week.  I know people might say “If this is your only problem, you should be happy.”  I know this is a small problem.  But I’m asking anyway :)

Valentine’s Day Fail

Was Valentine’s Day everything you hoped or did it go horribly wrong?  Sometimes, when we put a lot of pressure on a particular day or event, we end up feeling let down.  Were the flowers dead?  Was the chocolate melted?  Did the kids decide to sleep in your bed?  All you can do is laugh about it now — let all of East Idaho laugh along with you.

Whitney Houston coverage

A sad story all around, but what do you think of the media coverage?  Too much, too little, or just about right?  I think the media is doing a decent job of balancing respect for her as one of the greatest voices of all time, with the drug connections.  –Paul
