Dear Mike & Liza,

My sweet husband texts me the same thing every day — “How’s your day going?”  I stop what I’m doing and write back a thoughtful response.  I rarely hear back from him.  When I do, it’s a brief, “That’s nice dear.”

It almost seems like he’s going through the motions instead of showing sincere interest.  And he makes me do all the work in the conversation.

If there were a point to the conversation, I wouldn’t mind.  Otherwise, it’s kind of driving me crazy.
