Dear Mike & Liza,
My husband and I have been married 3 years. His family lives in town and every year we go to their house for Thanksgiving. He grew up in a family that doesn’t like turkey, so his mother always makes a ham for dinner. Now the family includes 2 daughters-in-law and 2 sons-in-law. We all agree, we like and miss turkey.
I asked if it would be alright for me to bring a turkey to his parents house to add to the Thanksgiving feast but he says it would be rude and hurt his mother’s feelings. Shouldn’t families incorporate new traditions when their children grow up and get married?
