Dear Mike & Liza,
My husband and I bought a cruise for our family to enjoy in February. We planned to present it to our teenage children for Christmas. I want to get my children lots of little cruise related gifts — new swimsuits, flip flops, sunglasses, etc so they will have presents to open Christmas morning. My husband says the trip is gift enough and we shouldn’t spend any more money. I know they are almost adults, but it pains me to think of my children missing out on the magic of Christmas morning. I mean, how fun is it to open a card with a gift certificate in it?
Tell Scrooge to loosen the purse strings — after all, it’s Christmas!
